Landlord Kevin Davis penned a letter to the Courier in the July 13th issue that warned of a “massacre” upon those who lease apartments. While we are accustomed to hyperbolic bloviating by associations like AAGLA and its director Dan Yukelson, Davis reminds us that even sober speakers sometimes offer up specious claims. City Council (Finally) Adopts Registry Resolution

City Council in Tuesday’s September 19th evening session adopted a resolution to create the rental unit registry. It was a formality, really. Council had decided to move ahead with it on September 5th despite a small parade of landlords who argued that the registry was not only unlawful but too costly and the product of an improper process.

Beverly Hills Affordable Housing Eligibility: What You Need to Know

City of Beverly Hills has guidelines for prioritizing the eligibility of applicants for affordable housing: seniors get first shot then families with children, etc. The guidelines have been on the books for years. But only recently has there been an opportunity to use them as a few new deed-restricted affordable units became available. Looking ahead to the decade ahead, more affordable units will come online so we thought it helpful to describe the process of qualifying with a focus on the guidelines that help to determine eligibility.
